Réka Benczes is Professor of Linguistics at Corvinus University of Budapest. Her main area of research is figurative language use in political and health communication, language play and creativity, and cognitive sociolinguistics, on which topics she publishes regularly. Her books are: Creative Compounding in English (2006); The Metaphors of Sixty (with Szilvia Csábi, 2006); Kognitív nyelvészet ([Cognitive linguistics], with Zoltán Kövecses, 2010); Defining Metonymy in Cognitive Linguistics (with Antonio Barcelona and Francisco José Ruiz de Mendoza, 2011); Wrestling with Words and Meanings (with Kate Burridge, 2014); Rhyme over Reason: Phonological Motivation in English (2019) and Visual Metaphors (with Veronika Szelid, 2022).

Alexandra Béni is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Communication and Media Science at Corvinus University of Budapest. Her main research area is the visual representation of violence in online news, primarily from the perspective of visual metonymic framing. In a broader sense, he deals with media representation research, visual communication and the linguistic aspects of political communication.

Ágnes Virág defended her PhD in the Doctoral School of Sociology and Communication Science at Corvinus University of Budapest. Presently she is a Lecturer in the Institute of Fine Arts and Art Theory at the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University of Eger. Her main research area is the multimodal representation of such political concepts as the parliament, democracy, aggression in political cartoons and political art from the perspective of multimodal metonymy and metaphor theory. In a broader sense, she deals with the figurative aspects of visual political communication.

Virág Ágnes a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem Szociológia és Kommunikációtudomány Doktori Programjában védte meg doktori disszertációját. Jelenleg az egri Eszterházy Károly Katolikus Egyetem Képzőművészet és Művészetelmélet Intézetének tanársegéde. Fő kutatási területe az olyan politikai fogalmak mint a parlament, a demokrácia vagy az agresszió multimodális reprezentációja a politikai karikatúrákban és a politikai művészetben a multimodális metonímia- és metaforaelmélet keretében. Tágabb értelemben a vizuális politikai kommunikáció figuratív jellemzőivel foglalkozik.

Petra Bialkó is a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Sociology and Communication Science at Corvinus University of Budapest.  Her research centers on metaphorical expressions used by mothers experiencing postpartum mood disorders. In a broader context, she investigates online health communication and the role of metaphors in shaping digital discourse, especially within the sphere of maternal mental health.
